The People’s Majlis has officially granted approval for the appointment of Fathimath Ameeza as the Commissioner General of Taxation at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).

The parliamentary decision was finalized following a floor vote held after a review of the nominees submitted by the President. Ameeza received unanimous support, with all 64 members present voting in favor of her appointment to the leadership role at the national tax authority.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had submitted two names for parliamentary consideration: Mohamed Haleem Abdulla of Ha. Thakandhoo and Fathimath Ameeza of Gdh. Gadhdhoo. The position of Commissioner General became vacant following the resignation of the previous incumbent, Hassan Zareer.
