Medianet’s Video Club is set to premiere its latest original series, “Gana,” on May 2, 2026. In a special launch event, the first two episodes of the psychological thriller will be screened at Olympus Cinema before the full series becomes available for digital streaming on the Medianet app.

Produced by Eakaaf and written and directed by the acclaimed Ravee Farooq, the 10-episode series explores the profound and lasting psychological scars left by bullying. The narrative centers on Junaid, a successful businessman whose life is disrupted by an anonymous message containing a school photograph and the cryptic phrase, “one is missing.” This catalyst plunges Junaid back into a past defined by trauma and the mistreatment he and his friend, Azaan, endured during their school years.

As the story unfolds, a series of violent incidents targeting individuals from Junaid’s past come to light, prompting an investigation by Detective Riyaz. The series delves deep into the human psyche, highlighting the journey toward justice in a society often characterized by silence and social hierarchies. Director Ravee Farooq noted that the series examines human morality and behavior under intense pressure, while Eakaaf expressed their commitment to bringing brave, socially relevant stories to the Maldivian audience following the success of previous productions ‘Gareena’ and ‘Hintha’.

The digital release on the mm.medianet.mv portal ensures that viewers across the Maldives, including those in the outer atolls, can access the content simultaneously. This move is part of Medianet’s broader strategy to make high-quality local cinema more accessible to the public.

In conjunction with the release, Medianet has launched the “Stream and Fly” campaign. Subscribers to Video Club have the opportunity to win a round-trip to Istanbul, Turkey, for two. This promotion, held in partnership with Turkish Airlines and Expedite Maldives, is available to those on the 333 MVR annual mobile subscription or the 100 MVR monthly TV add-on package.
