The Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has announced a major initiative to waive fines on outstanding water bills for both domestic and commercial customers. This decision is part of the company’s efforts to provide financial relief and facilitate a more manageable path for customers to settle long-standing arrears.

According to an official announcement by MWSC, the fine waiver applies to all penalties accumulated on bills up to December 31, 2025. To qualify for the waiver, customers are required to settle the total outstanding principal amount of their bills between April 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026.

The company also noted that customers who are unable to pay the full amount at once can enter into installment agreements. For those choosing this option, fines will be formally waived once the total outstanding balance is fully cleared according to the terms of the payment agreement.
