MALÉ, Maldives – President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his felicitations to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day, observed on 26th January.

In his message to Prime Minister Modi, President Muizzu highlighted the positive developments stemming from the bilateral relationship between the two nations. He commended India’s regional leadership under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance and reiterated the Maldivian government’s commitment to reinforcing bilateral ties and enhancing practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

President Muizzu also expressed appreciation for India’s ongoing support towards the economic and social development of the Maldives. He conveyed his best wishes for the good health and well-being of both leaders, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the Indian people.

Addressing President Murmu, President Muizzu underscored that the sixty-year friendship between the Maldives and India is built upon a foundation of mutual trust, respect, and understanding.

India’s Republic Day commemorates the adoption of the country’s Constitution and its transformation into a sovereign republic on 26th January 1950.
