Former Fenaka Corporation Managing Director Muaz Mohamed Rasheed has been appointed as the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).

The appointment was recently finalized following approval from the MWSC Board of Directors. Muaz, who was the first individual appointed to lead Fenaka Corporation under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration, stepped down from his previous post on December 23 last year.

Following his resignation from Fenaka, Muaz issued a public statement clarifying that his departure was driven by the company’s deteriorating financial condition and unsustainable operational costs. He further noted that despite submitting comprehensive strategic plans to the relevant government authorities to stabilize the utility provider, no actionable progress had been achieved during his tenure.
