Travellers’ Mosque Inaugurated in N. Kendhikulhudhoo

N. Kendhikulhudhoo has seen the inauguration of Masjidh Shameema Abdulla, a new mosque located in the island’s harbour area, specifically designated for travellers visiting the atoll. The mosque was constructed in memory of the mother of Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, a prominent businessman and the Member of Parliament for the D. Meedhoo constituency. Mr. Siyam and Kendhikulhudhoo Council President Mohamed Raufoof jointly inaugurated the facility.

Inauguration Details

Following the official opening, Mr. Siyam led the congregational prayers as the Imam in the new mosque. The event concluded with an Iftar (fast-breaking meal) arranged at the Kendhikulhudhoo harbour, attended by Mr. Siyam and other visitors present in the area.

Previous Contributions

This initiative marks another philanthropic contribution by Mr. Siyam, who previously funded the construction of Masjid-ul Mohamed Qasim in memory of his father in his home island.
