Member of Parliament for the Baarashu constituency, Ibrahim Shujau, has categorically denied allegations that his private company, ‘Official Events,’ is utilizing the facilities of Public Service Media (PSM) for commercial storage.
The denial follows a local media report claiming that Shujau’s private goods had been stored within two PSM buildings for over a year. Responding to the claims via social media platform X, the lawmaker dismissed the report as false and highlighted that he had already clarified the situation when contacted by the media outlet prior to publication.
Shujau explained that the presence of equipment at PSM premises is linked to the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He noted that Ahmed Adham, a director at Official Events, also serves as a board director at PSM, and the firm frequently provides logistical support for PSM-hosted events, such as the national Quran and Madhaha competitions, free of charge.
Addressing the photographs used in the allegations, Shujau stated that the items pictured were equipment brought in specifically for recent state-media events under their CSR program. He further asserted that Official Events maintains its own private warehouses for its inventory and does not require state facilities for storage purposes.
