Member of Parliament for the Maradhoo constituency, Ahmed Didi, has stated that the results of the recent Local Council and Women’s Development Committee elections demonstrate a clear loss of public confidence in the current administration.
Speaking on Sangu TV’s “Khabarah Fahu” program, MP Didi highlighted that the government assumed power with assurances to complete infrastructure projects initiated during the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) tenure. However, he argued that three years into the term, the administration has failed to deliver on its primary pledges.
The lawmaker emphasized that the electorate used the ballot to send a definitive message regarding the government’s performance. He noted that while the administration’s promises remain documented and visible, there has been no tangible progress in their implementation.
Furthermore, MP Didi expressed concern over the nation’s deteriorating fiscal health, stating that the economic condition of citizens has declined significantly since 2023. According to the MP, the public’s growing frustration stems from the administration’s failure to address these critical socioeconomic challenges.
