Severe weather conditions across the Maldives resulted in heavy rainfall and significant flooding in Feydhoo, Addu City, overnight. The inundation affected several major roads, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) reported that officers from the Southern Area Command’s Hithadhoo Fire Station commenced dewatering operations at approximately 03:45 AM on Sunday. Firefighters utilized specialized water pumps to drain the submerged streets, maintaining a continuous presence on the scene.

According to military authorities, the operation concluded at 10:10 AM today. The floodwaters have been successfully cleared, and the MNDF confirmed that conditions on the island have returned to normal.
