MALÉ, Maldives – The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) recovered MVR 1.24 billion (Maldivian Rufiyaa) in outstanding funds during the third quarter of last year, according to its latest financial report.

The report details the authority’s efforts to collect unreceived revenue during the specified period.

Funds Recovered Through Various Policies

MIRA further reported that during this period, final notices were issued to 6,991 parties, while general notices were sent to 38,837 parties regarding unpaid taxes. Additionally, instalment plans totalling MVR 3.8 million were arranged for 387 taxpayers.

Despite these collection efforts, figures indicate that MVR 13 billion remains outstanding. This total includes MVR 2.8 billion owed by State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
