The Ministry of Economic Development has officially launched a new mobile application titled ‘Agumagu,’ designed to provide the public with transparent, real-time access to market prices for various commodities across the country.

The application is currently available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. According to the Ministry, the platform provides daily updates on essential goods, highlighting the lowest, average, and maximum prices available in the market to help consumers make informed purchasing decisions.

Key features of the app include a historical data tracker that allows users to view price fluctuations over the past 10 days. Furthermore, the ‘Agumagu’ app includes a unique comparison tool, enabling users to contrast prices between two different islands, assisting travelers and residents in identifying the most cost-effective locations for trade.

The Ministry also highlighted that the application allows for personalized monitoring through a notification system. Users can set alerts for specific price changes and curate shopping lists. These lists automatically calculate total costs based on current market rates and direct users to outlets offering the most competitive prices.
