Mickail Ahmed Naseem, the Member of Parliament for South Galolhu, has formally launched his “Ithubaaru” campaign manifesto for the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Chairperson election. Speaking at a rally held at Artificial Beach on Thursday night, Mickail committed to securing a victory for the MDP in the 2028 Presidential Election, framing it as his primary objective.

During the event, Mickail emphasized his dedication to restoring public confidence in the party. He articulated a vision for “principled politics,” rejecting the notion that the political arena must inherently be a space of moral compromise. He pledged to introduce systemic reforms within the MDP to align the party with the democratic expectations of the Maldivian people.

Addressing party members, the Chairperson candidate vowed to avoid unrealistic promises made solely for political advantage. Reflecting on his track record, Mickail noted his unwavering loyalty to the party during its most challenging periods. He further stressed that ensuring a fair and transparent internal primary for the upcoming presidential race is crucial for the party’s future and political viability.
