The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has appointed Galolhu North constituency MP Mohamed Ibrahim as its campaign manager for the upcoming Local Council Elections and Women’s Development Committees Elections. Both elections are scheduled to be held on 4 April.

Additional Campaign Team Appointments

The MDP has also announced other key appointments to its campaign team. Former Hulhumale’ constituency MP Ali Niyaz, former Dhaandhoo constituency MP Yaqoob Abdulla, and Aiko Ahmed Easa, a member of the party’s Legal Committee, have been designated as Deputy Campaign Managers.

Furthermore, former Dhihdhoo constituency MP Abdulla Waheed has been appointed as the campaign spokesperson for the Local Council Elections. Hussain Hassan, a member of the party’s National Council, will serve as the Deputy Spokesperson.

Primary Election Results

Earlier, the MDP conducted primary elections to select its candidates for both the Council Elections and the Women’s Development Committees. These primaries, held on the 16th of this month, saw the incumbent Male’ City Mayor, Adam Azim, selected as the party’s candidate to contest for the Male’ City mayoral position following a highly contested campaign.
