Businessman and Member of Parliament for Maamigili constituency, Qasim Ibrahim, today inaugurated a new mosque in ADh. Maamigili. The mosque, officially named “Masjid Ibrahim”, was also formally opened by Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

Following the inauguration ceremony, Minister Shaheem led the Friday prayers at the newly opened mosque. Maamigili is the native island of Qasim Ibrahim.

Mosque Facilities

Masjid Ibrahim has the capacity to accommodate 800 worshippers. The facility includes separate prayer areas and ablution facilities designated for both male and female congregants. Additionally, the mosque is equipped with a full air-conditioning system.

National Context

The inauguration of Masjid Ibrahim contributes to a total of 15 mosques that have been opened across the Maldives this Ramadan. This figure encompasses both government-funded construction projects and mosques built through private contributions.
