A Maldivian man was threatened with a knife and robbed while searching for money in an apartment on the second floor of the M. Plaza building. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The operation was carried out by Hulhumalé Police in the early hours of the morning, with the apartment on the fourth floor being raided and the victim rescued safely. After the man was taken to the hospital and seen by a doctor, he was discharged following treatment for his injuries.

Background: Hulhumalé is a reclaimed island developed to alleviate housing congestion in the greater Malé region and is part of the Malé metropolitan area.

Those arrested in the case are a 24-year-old man from S. Hithadhoo/Bilaal, a 23-year-old man from S. Hithadhoo/Blue Corner, a 23-year-old man from GD. Thinadhoo/Kulunu, and a 24-year-old man from S. Meedhoo/Huvadhumaa Villa.

The court, upon being requested to formulate a way to detain the arrested individuals, has ordered the four to be held for 15 days.

The case is currently under further investigation by the police.
