The Maldives has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the escalating conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, urging all parties to de-escalate. The Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement today condemning all attacks, citing concerns over the worsening situation and its impediment to peace.
The Ministry specifically condemned attacks initiated by the United States and Israel against Iran, which reportedly commenced on the 28th of the preceding month. Iran has since engaged in retaliatory actions, including targeting US military bases situated in Arab nations.
The statement from the Maldives further condemned an incident involving a US attack on an Iranian school, which resulted in child casualties. Additionally, condemnation was directed at attacks targeting Iranian hospitals and oil facilities.
The Maldivian government reiterated its call for all parties to cease exchanging attacks, emphasising that the escalating violence is detrimental to the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the region.
