The Maldives has recorded a total of 416,143 tourist arrivals from the beginning of the year until 1st March, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism. This figure represents a noticeable improvement compared to the same period in the previous year.
Top Source Markets
China emerged as the leading source market, contributing 77,529 visitors. Russia followed with 55,034 arrivals, while Italy accounted for 47,036 tourists. The United Kingdom was the fourth largest market with 44,245 visitors, and Germany ranked fifth with 29,563 arrivals.
Operational Facilities and Averages
As of 1st March, the Maldivian tourism sector reported over 1,200 operational facilities. These included 180 resorts, offering a total of 44,891 beds. Additionally, more than 880 guesthouses and over 140 safari vessels were providing services to tourists across the archipelago.
Current data indicates an average daily arrival rate of 6,936 tourists. On average, visitors spent 7.5 days in the Maldives during this period.
