Maldives Premier Bank (MPB) has officially commenced its operations today, marking its entry as the ninth commercial bank to serve the Maldivian market. The launch follows the formal issuance of a banking license by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) yesterday.
In a press statement, MPB detailed its vision to integrate relationship-driven banking with robust governance and international best practices. The bank aims to leverage sophisticated technology to deliver a customer-centric, modern banking experience tailored for the Maldives.
The bank is governed by a distinguished Board of Directors, chaired by Aishath Noreen Janah. The board also includes Non-Executive Directors Raheema Saleem, Mariyam Shahidha Mohamed, Ismail Ali Manik, Mohamed Hussain Manik, and Sujatha Haleem.
MPB’s management team brings extensive global expertise, with members having worked across 14 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Pacific. The leadership team consists of professionals who have held senior positions in regulated financial institutions, specializing in digital transformation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
