The annual Inter-Office Holy Quran Recitation Competition, a regular event during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, commenced today. The inauguration took place this morning at the King Salman Mosque with a special ceremony.

Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, was present at the opening ceremony.

Competition Details and Organisation

According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, this year’s competition has attracted 71 participants representing 21 different government offices and institutions.

The competition, which was initiated by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in 2016, has been organised by the Centre for Holy Quran since last year.

Objectives

The primary objective of the Inter-Office Holy Quran Recitation Competition is to cultivate an appreciation for reciting the Holy Quran among employees across various offices. It also aims to encourage engagement with the Holy Quran within a structured and competitive environment.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs is reportedly conducting a range of religious programmes throughout this Ramadan.
