The Maldivian government has announced that the distribution of canned fish, provided as Ramadan gifts, will conclude in the Malé area by the 15th day of Ramadan. The final distribution points will be the MCLP Public Works and MIFCO stores located in Hulhumalé Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Distribution Details

The initiative for distributing canned fish in the Malé region commenced on the 24th of the preceding month. Initially, distribution took place at various locations across the Malé area. However, since the 11th of the current month, the distribution has been consolidated to solely MIFCO stores and the MCLP Public Works facility.

Local Government Minister Adam Shareef confirmed the end date and designated collection points today.

Previous Year’s Distribution

In the previous year, the government distributed a total of 118,673 cases of canned fish as part of its Ramadan gift programme.
