Maldives Correctional Service Opens New Front Office in Hulhumalé

Hulhumalé, Maldives – The Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) today inaugurated its new front office, strategically located at the southwest corner of Hulhumalé Jail. Homeland Minister Ali Ihusan officially opened the facility this morning, marking a development in enhancing public access and services related to correctional affairs.

Comprehensive Services Offered

The newly established front office is designed to offer a broad spectrum of services to the public. These include processing requests for criminal record clearances, responding to telephone enquiries, and managing incoming correspondence received via the main email address and the physical counter. The office will also play a role in directing documents to the relevant sections, divisions, and commands within the MCS, overseeing record maintenance, and providing essential information to individuals visiting the service for various matters.

Support for Inmates and Families

In addition to general public services, the front office will serve as a dedicated point for families to submit clothes for both detainees and convicts. This service will operate on Sundays and Tuesdays each week, adhering strictly to the established guidelines for the acceptance of inmate attire.
