The Government of the Maldives has issued a stern condemnation following the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli officials and extremist groups. In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the intrusion as a flagrant violation of the sanctity of one of Islam’s holiest sites.

The Ministry emphasized that obstructing worshippers from accessing the mosque constitutes a blatant defiance of international laws and conventions. The Maldives characterized these actions as a coordinated effort to alter the historical and legal status of the site and to undermine its religious significance to the global Islamic community.

The Maldives has called upon the international community to take decisive measures to halt these recurring violations and to ensure Israel is held accountable for its actions. The government reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their quest for fundamental rights and the protection of Islamic holy sites.
