Aishath Shaan Shakir, the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Sweden, has officially presented her letters of credence to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf. The ceremony took place at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

During the subsequent audience, Ambassador Shaan conveyed warm greetings and well wishes from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the government, and the people of the Maldives to the King and the Swedish population. She highlighted the enduring bilateral relations between the two nations and reaffirmed her commitment to further strengthening cooperation in various priority sectors during her tenure.

As part of her official visit to Stockholm, the Ambassador also engaged in high-level discussions with senior officials from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These meetings focused on enhancing diplomatic ties and fostering collaborative efforts on the international stage to address mutual interests.

Ambassador Shaan currently serves as the Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Germany. In addition to her new accreditation to Sweden, she also holds the position of Non-Resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway and the Republic of Finland.
