The newly appointed Maldives Ambassador to Japan, Ahmed Mahloof, officially presented his credentials to His Majesty Emperor Naruhito during a ceremony at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo this morning.
During the audience, Emperor Naruhito welcomed Ambassador Mahloof and expressed his well wishes for a successful tenure. Ambassador Mahloof conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of the Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, to the Emperor and the people of Japan.
The Ambassador reiterated his commitment to further strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations between the Maldives and Japan. Diplomatic ties between the two nations were established on November 14, 1967, and both countries are preparing to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their formal relationship next year.
Ambassador Mahloof was accompanied at the ceremony by Deputy Ambassador Ahmed Adil, along with Second Secretary Hawwa Samha, Aminath Raziyya, and Ashraf Ali from the Maldives Embassy in Tokyo.
