Today’s Friday sermon delivered across the Maldives emphasized the inevitability of divine accountability, warning the faithful that their own bodies will bear witness to their earthly deeds on the Day of Resurrection.

The sermon, titled “Prepare for the Day of Resurrection and the Place of Gathering,” highlighted that the afterlife is a realm where no secrets can remain hidden. It noted that while individuals may attempt to conceal their transgressions through falsehoods, Allah will seal their mouths, allowing their hands and feet to recount their worldly actions with absolute clarity.

Describing the profound gravity of the Day of Judgment, the Khutbah cited Quranic verses illustrating a day of such intense fear that nursing mothers will forget their infants and the most intimate of kin will flee from one another in a desperate bid for self-salvation. The discourse reminded the congregation that every individual will be presented with the record of their deeds to face self-reckoning.

The sermon concluded by urging the public to resist the path of temptation and prioritize righteous deeds. It reminded believers that ultimate success is defined by being spared from divine punishment and attaining a place in Paradise, as the Day of Judgment will ultimately divide humanity into those who find joy and those who face eternal sorrow.
