The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has officially opened applications for three judicial vacancies at the Criminal Court. In an announcement made today, the commission stated that interested candidates have until July 16 to submit their credentials.

Applications can be submitted electronically through the JSC’s ‘Fahires’ portal or as physical hard copies at the commission’s front desk. To be eligible, candidates must hold a first degree in either Islamic Sharia or Law and possess a minimum of three years of professional experience as a judge or a legal practitioner. Applicants must also be at least 25 years of age.

Additional mandatory requirements specify that candidates must be Sunni Muslims of sound mind and have no prior convictions for Hudud offenses, fraud, or bribery. Successful appointees will receive a monthly remuneration package, including salary and allowances, totaling MVR 60,000.
