The Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has officially inaugurated a legal clinic designed to offer pro bono legal services to the general public. This initiative provides a platform for law students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting under the direct supervision of licensed legal professionals.

According to a statement from IUM, the clinic aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice. Under the guidance of experienced attorneys, students will assist the public with various legal matters, including providing legal counsel and drafting essential documents such as agreements, forms, and Power of Attorney filings.

The university detailed that once a case is submitted, a dedicated team of students will be assigned to research and analyze the matter under oversight. Following this research phase, the clinic will organize formal meetings where clients can receive professional legal advice directly at the IUM Legal Clinic.

Members of the public seeking legal assistance can submit their cases through a dedicated Google Form link provided by the university.
