TOKYO — Indian electronics manufacturing services provider Kaynes Technology is expanding into Japan alongside local partners to secure semiconductor assembly orders, specifically targeting domestic automotive chipmakers.

The company intends to handle the back-end processing of these components at its newly established manufacturing facility in Gujarat, India.

Currently, back-end semiconductor operations are heavily concentrated in facilities across China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. India’s emergence as an alternative production hub provides Japanese manufacturers with a vital opportunity to reduce supply chain vulnerabilities and diversify their geopolitical risks. (© Reuters)
