Ibrahim Ziyath has officially resigned from his position as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL). Insight News has confirmed that the resignation took place last month, though the specific reasons for his departure remain undisclosed.
Ziyath’s exit comes during a period of significant transition within the state-owned enterprise’s executive leadership. He was appointed to the role of Deputy CEO and joined the company’s Board of Directors in March. His resignation follows the appointment of Mohamed Lam’aan, former Deputy Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), to the MPL board and a Deputy CEO post in May.
A seasoned corporate executive, Ziyath previously served as the CEO of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and held various senior roles at the State Trading Organization (STO) for several years.
