MALE’ – Ahmed Saleem, the inaugural President of the Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM), presented his authored book, “Memories of HRCM,” to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during a meeting at the President’s Office earlier today.
About the Publication
Mr. Saleem’s book provides an account of the establishment of the Human Rights Commission, details his five years of experience as the first President of the HRCM, and sheds light on significant historical events during the Maldives’ transition to a democratic system of governance.
Mr. Saleem’s Contribution to HRCM
Mr. Saleem was among the initial members appointed to the Human Rights Commission when it was first established by a presidential decree in 2003. He subsequently served as the first President of the HRCM constituted under the nation’s current Constitution, which was ratified in 2008.
