In a historic milestone for inclusive education in the Maldives, Ismail Rahil has become the first hearing-impaired student to graduate from the Maldives National University (MNU). Rahil successfully completed his Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, a feat that has drawn widespread praise across the nation.

Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu personally congratulated Rahil on his achievement, noting that this success serves as a powerful testament that physical disabilities are not an obstacle to academic excellence. The Minister emphasized that Rahil’s journey provides renewed hope and inspiration for other students with special needs pursuing their higher education goals.

Rahil’s graduation marks a significant step forward for the Maldivian education sector. It highlights the improving support systems within academic institutions that enable students with disabilities to excel, building on previous successes where students with special needs have achieved high honors in secondary education examinations.
