The final contingent of Maldivian pilgrims scheduled to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year departed for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday morning. The group, consisting of 253 individuals, traveled via the national carrier, Maldivian.

This departure marks the conclusion of the transport phase for this year’s pilgrims. The first group left the Maldives last Friday, followed by two subsequent groups. According to the Maldives Hajj Mission, pilgrims from the initial groups have already arrived in Mecca and successfully completed their first Umrah rituals.

The Mission further confirmed that all Maldivian pilgrims currently in Mecca are in good health and high spirits. As with previous years, the pilgrims benefited from the ‘Makkah Route Initiative,’ which allowed them to complete Saudi Arabian immigration formalities at Velana International Airport prior to departure, ensuring a seamless arrival in the Kingdom.

To facilitate a smooth journey, the government organized dedicated transportation services, providing bus transfers from Malé and Hulhumalé to the airport for the pilgrims and their families. This year’s operation has been noted for its efficiency and streamlined logistical arrangements.
