Former Vice President Faisal Naseem has officially expressed his interest in contesting for the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) presidential ticket. Naseem revealed his political ambitions during an appearance on Adhadhu’s “Etherafuh” program.

Highlighting his vision for the nation’s future, the former Vice President stated that he has significant hopes for the country and is actively working towards securing the party’s nomination. He underscored the necessity of party unity, asserting that the MDP can secure a victory in the upcoming presidential election if leadership figures, including former President Mohamed Nasheed and former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, remain united.

Naseem’s announcement adds to a growing list of potential candidates within the MDP. Former Chairperson Fayyaz Ismail has already signaled his interest in the ticket, while speculation continues to mount regarding potential bids from current MDP President Abdulla Shahid and former President Solih.
