The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has reported dangerous levels of air pollution across all parts of the Maldives today.
According to the MET Office, the current air pollution, characterised by haze, marks the most significant impact observed over the past seven days. Meteorological reports indicate that visibility in affected areas has dropped below two kilometres.
Forecast and Public Advisory
The MET Office anticipates that the effects of air pollution will persist over the Maldives for the next two days, carried by prevailing north-easterly winds.
Consequently, the MET Office advises individuals participating in outdoor activities and those undertaking sea travel to exercise particular caution during this period.
