Maldives Customs Service has intercepted an additional shipment of narcotics weighing over three kilograms, marking another significant seizure in the ongoing effort to curb drug trafficking through postal services.

According to official reports, 3.2 kilograms of cannabis were discovered last Saturday hidden within a package. This follows a similar announcement where another 3.2-kilogram haul of the same substance was intercepted on the same day during routine screening operations.

Customs officials stated that the illicit substances were uncovered after officers flagged a suspicious package for detailed inspection. While the investigation remains active, authorities have not yet confirmed any arrests in connection with the shipment, nor have they disclosed the country of origin from which the package was dispatched.

The Maldives has seen a notable surge in drug trafficking attempts via international mail recently, prompting heightened vigilance and more rigorous inspection protocols at postal hubs across the country.
