Abdul Majeed Ali has been officially appointed as the Chairperson of the Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO) board. Mr. Ali previously served on the board representing the private sector.

In addition to the new leadership, Yameen Idrees has also been appointed as a member of the MPAO board. The appointments were confirmed today following a period of transition within the organization’s oversight body.

The position of Chairperson became vacant following the resignation of Dr. Ahmed Inaz in February this year. Dr. Inaz reportedly stepped down due to policy disagreements regarding a government proposal to sell bonds valued at MVR 2.4 billion.

The Maldives Pension Administration Office welcomed the new appointees through their official social media channels, expressing confidence in the board’s future direction under the new leadership.
