The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has announced that its retail outlets in the Greater Male’ area and Addu City will now remain open on Fridays, effective immediately.

Under the newly revised schedule, MIFCO shops will operate on Fridays from 08:30 to 10:30 and 20:00 to 23:00. For the remainder of the week, stores will maintain service hours from 08:30 to 23:00, with brief closures observed during scheduled prayer times.

According to the state-owned fisheries giant, the primary objective of this change is to ensure residents have convenient access to fresh fish products for traditional Friday family gatherings. MIFCO also revealed plans to utilize this new Friday schedule to debut various new products to the market.
