The Maldives Police Service has impounded three motorcycles following reports of dangerous driving across the Sinamalé Bridge. Authorities confirmed that the vehicles were seized after footage circulated on social media showing riders operating the bikes in a manner that posed a significant threat to public safety.

According to police statements, the three motorcycles were towed for violating the Land Transport Act and associated regulations. The vehicles have been impounded for a period of 30 days as a punitive measure. The dangerous maneuvers captured in viral videos included individuals lying flat on their motorcycles and speeding with their heads tucked down, severely limiting their visibility of the road.

The police emphasized that such behavior creates fear among other motorists and pedestrians. They reiterated their commitment to enforcing traffic laws to ensure the safety of all commuters using the bridge connecting Malé and Hulhumalé.
