GIRIFUSHI, Maldives – The 73rd Basic Training Course for military personnel has officially commenced at the Girifushi Training Centre, enrolling 142 students, including 25 women. The programme was inaugurated during a special ceremony held last night.

Colonel Ibrahim Naveen Zubair, Deputy Commanding Officer of the College of Defence and Security Studies, presided over the opening ceremony.

During the event, Captain Ahmed Vishaam, Company Commander and Chief Instructor of the course, administered the pledge to the students. Concurrently, Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Jinaan, Course Officer of the course, administered the oath to the instructors.

Attendees at the ceremony included Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Zaeem, Commanding Officer of The Basic School; Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Jinaan, Course Officer of the 73rd Basic Training Course; Captain Ahmed Vishaam, Company Commander and Chief Instructor of the 73rd Basic Training Course; and Major Mohamed Nadeem, Director of the NCO Academy.
