A total of 352 students have departed to commence their National Service Training as part of the ‘Dhivehi Vathenee Khidhumaiy’ initiative. This latest group marks the third batch of the program aimed at fostering civic duty and nationalism among the Maldivian youth.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced via social media that the second call for applications saw significant interest, with 1,785 young individuals applying for the program. The selected cohort of 352 participants includes 64 females and 288 males, representing 115 islands across all 20 atolls of the Maldives.

The training is conducted over a three-month period at the MNDF Composite Training Centre in Lh. Maafilaafushi. According to the President, the curriculum is designed to be comprehensive, covering Maldivian nationalism, responsible citizenship, religious education, ethics, leadership, and physical fitness, alongside various essential life skills.

President Muizzu emphasized that the sustainable execution of the National Service program is a primary pillar of the administration’s youth development policy. He stated that the objective is to cultivate a self-confident, disciplined, and patriotic generation that is physically and spiritually resilient.
