The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced that new judges will be officially appointed to the Criminal Court and Civil Court tomorrow morning.
The swearing-in ceremony for the six newly appointed judges is scheduled to take place at the Supreme Court of the Maldives at 09:30 AM. The JSC had recently opened applications to fill these vacancies in the lower courts.
Those appointed to the Civil Court include Aishath Azeema, Mohamed Nishath, and Mohamed Raghib, a former Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Environment. The Criminal Court bench will be joined by Ahmed Thaufeeq, Mohamed Abdulla, and Sulaiman Mohamed.
These appointments are expected to bolster the efficiency of the judiciary and address the current caseloads in both the Criminal and Civil jurisdictions.
