The Maldives Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, has departed for Saudi Arabia on an official visit today.

According to the Ministry, the trip follows a special invitation from the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh. During the visit, Dr. Shaheem is scheduled to hold official high-level discussions with Saudi counterparts to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in religious matters.

In addition to the official talks, Minister Shaheem will attend the closing ceremony of the prestigious King Abdulaziz International Quran Competition. While the Ministry has confirmed the objectives of the trip, the specific duration of the Minister’s stay in the Kingdom has not been disclosed.
